Broadcom Taps PR Muscle Amid Cybersecurity Ambitions
Broadcom lining up external support to strengthen its communication strategy
Broadcom, the semiconductor heavyweight, has reportedly engaged a familiar public relations firm it has previously worked with on numerous mergers and acquisitions. This move has sparked speculation that an announcement to acquire cloud security provider Zscaler may come sooner than the August date reported previously.
Jun 3 Update - the focus of Broadcom efforts on its IR strategy. “We are not concerned about business and media narrative,” an executive told us late Sunday, “ we just want to make sure the narrative doesn’t get out of hand with the investor community.” Given this focus, we believe there is some discomfort in the C-level discussions, and Broadcom thinks it may need to bring other investors to bear pressure on the current board.
